Drivers Lexmark 5400 Windows 8
Original Title: ask the community I was running Windows 8 and using a Lexmark X5470 printer. I downloaded the Windows 8.1 pro to see all the 'amazing new things' - all that really happened was a 'start' box is now there - and my printer doesn't work!!!! When I run Word 2010 - the application knows that the Lexmark is there - I choose it and it says it's printing. BUT, nothing prints and the print queue shows that there is nothing in it.
I've also tried the 'troubleshooter' and it, too, sees the Lexmark in it's list - says it has printed a 'sample page' - but nothing prints and, again, nothing in the printer queue. NO ERROR MESSAGES come up on the screen. I have been sitting here for hours trying to figure this out and just don't know what to do.

It is near the bottom 1) Printer must be On for it to show up in Devices and Printers after the Upgrade - Just this one time. Otherwise, only the Lexmark Fax shows up and the Printer can't be REMOVED. 2) Now UNHOOK the Printer 3) REMOVE Lexmark Printer and Lexmark Fax in Devices and Printers.
4) STOP the PRINT SPOOLER. 5) Uninstall software - TWO Firewall Security Messages Pop Up about 'ALLOWING' Printer Communication.
